I would stay here ...

I would stay here again at the discounted price I got from my timeshare company, through interval international. All in all a good stay. Just a note to say that you should request a room with a window. Also the building is not white as pictured and most of the shots of chairs and a communal breakfast area are old and those spaces do not exist. When we first arrived it was late and the person who worked there was beyond not happy to see us and was grumpy. We were so excited after a LONG journey. We got a room that was like a cave - a window that had a brick wall opposite. Note i never saw any of the windows pictured in the photos (large with an arch on top) in the building not inside or outside so those must be staged shots. The fridge in that first room was very loud and one could not open it. I had to wear earplugs. Also the phone did not work and there was NO ROOM to even put your luggage. We had to request luggage racks and those then blocked a way to walk around the bed. But this is how it is in NYC. - your standard hotel room is just SO tiny. Just like most people's living space - tiny. The next day we got a room with a window with a view of the street. It still did not look like the ones in the photos. But better with daylight. Still not much space and a loud droning noise at night - so bring earplugs. No fridge this time but still a noise ? But I will say that it was CLEAN, relatively QUIET (for NYC) and because of the nice communal space downstairs (more like a club or bar) and gym, as well as nice lobby and excellent location - subway lines nearby and quiet Tribeca - I would stay again. I appreciated no resort fee and a free good breakfast consisting of an excellent croissant and fresh fruit. The bathrooms are adorable with fabulous old map of Tribeca on the tile! Loved the design and also nice soapstone. You get robes and slippers, a nice touch. One last negative - the bath products may look nice in the photos but they smell of toilet cleaner - the soap falls apart after 2 uses. Bring your own soap shower gel and shampoo. The conditioner was good. Hairdryer high quality! Still I would stay again! It is also a cool place to meet someone for a business meeting. The clientele seemed to consist of ex New Yorkers as far as I can tell. Staff was mixed - some nice some grumpy. Managers were very accommodating and nice. Unfortunately the filter coffee which was free in the morning irritated my bladder so I had to stop drinking it. Bar was closed so we don't know what that is normally like. For NYC this was very good. LATER: I tried staying here again on a recent trip but hte price had risen from $120 per room to about 300 or 400. Definitely stay somewhere else for that price. Even though I avoid midtown I recommend the Hilton Midtown (get 2 double beds) - quiet, large rooms, insanely amazing view and no resort fee. Great huge gym. Go to the cart outside for breakfast sandwhiches that are only $2. The cost was around $175 per night but I used my timeshare discount 2 days before travel. Prices drop. a few days before ! NYC HOTEL HACK: Maybe book a backup marriot and then cancel (free up to 24 hrs beforehand) and switch if you find a bargain a few days before! Check hotwire and priceline and void resort fees!

This hotel has a ...

This hotel has a style, i liked it very much despite of the small room. But it has a very good location, the subway is just on the corner. Because of the covid situation they do not offer normal breakfast now but breakfast bag can be collected in the lobby every morning (croissant, joghurt, piece of fruit and a cereal bar). I was not convienced, so we visited Zucker's bagels regularly which is very near and has superb breakfast options to offer.
