What does Tribeca stand for?
You may have seen the neighborhood written as "TriBeCa" because the area's name actually stands for the Triangle Below Canal Street. "Tribeca" refers to the triangular (technically, it's a trapezoid) area between Canal Street and Vesey Street to the north and south, and West Street and Broadway to the west and east.
When is the Tribeca Film Festival?
One of the most anticipated events in Hollywood and New York City, the Tribeca Film Festival happens every spring right in our neighborhood. Each year since 2002, directors have been screening and debuting the next big thing in movies at the festival, with venues and theaters throughout Tribeca and the neighboring Financial District.
