Go on a Unique Shopping Spree in Eclectic Tribeca

Home to a diverse group of artists, celebrities, and trendsetters, Tribeca is a popular shopping destination for all things unique. While SoHo is the definitive neighborhood for high-end luxury and designers, Tribeca boasts some of New York City's most original shopping experiences.

You'll find everything from classic fashion retailers and boutiques to niche stores, like an entire bookstore dedicated to crime and mystery (The Mysterious Bookshop), a woodsy axe and outdoor goods shop with a bar (Best Made Company), and the first Chinese-American department store in the country (Pearl River Mart). Find all the goods just outside The Frederick Hotel - these stores and many more are all within a five-minute walk.

  • Does "Tribeca" mean anything?

You may have seen the neighborhood written as "TriBeCa" because the area's name actually stands for the Triangle Below Canal Street. "Tribeca" refers to the triangular (technically, it's a trapezoid) area between Canal Street and Vesey Street to the north and south, and West Street and Broadway to the west and east.
  • When is the Tribeca Film Festival?

One of the most anticipated events in Hollywood and New York City, the Tribeca Film Festival happens every spring right in our neighborhood. Each year since 2002, directors have been screening and debuting the next big thing in movies at the festival, with venues and theaters throughout Tribeca and the neighboring Financial District.
