Chamber Music Series I - Embracing Resonance  Embracing Resonance explores the possibilities of mixing the sonorities of the violin, viola and cello in a chamber music setting. The aim is to present string instruments in varied combinations that are usually neglected in the concert hall.  Several composers throughout the history of music have identified the artistic capabilities of merging these intimate sounds. Therefore, the works being presented are broad and varied under the conception of ‘embracing resonance', showcasing a musical writing that erases the lines and mixes the sounds of these instruments.  The program will open with works by the most characteristic classical composers, Mozart and Beethoven. The second half will then explore a more modern approach, with works by Clarke, Martinu and Dohnanyi.  This repertoire has been chosen to assist in portraying a more intimate and special sonic language, hoping to broaden the interest of a wider audience.
